I'm excited to join the fun at Nerd Camp MI (an education conference--and (un)conference--with a focus on literacy and learning) and Nerd Camp Jr. (a camp for readers and writers) July 10-11 in Parma, Michigan. I'll be one of more than 50 authors and illustrators on the Nerd Camp faculty. 

Erin Soderberg Downing (author of Moon Shadow, the Puppy Pirates series, and more) and I will lead a Day One, Session One program on Building and Creating Stories Together: Applying Lessons from the Author-Editor Relationship to the Classroom. Join us in MS 607 for a hands-on, lively discussion of tools and techniques for brainstorming, drafting, editing, and revising, in which we'll share our experiences (and war stories!) of building and creating stories together as longtime collaborators and friends.
